Wouldn't try personally...cost of living is cheaper but so are wages by far. And Americans are not looked on too kindly when it comes to any type of dealings with police or politicians. I know of people who bought dream home down there on the beach front only to have developer come in and bulldoze beach front for apartments, nothing they can do at all...

I know someone who did it and he's pretty happy. So yes I think it's feasible as long as you realize the risks involved as well as the cost, time and planning that are needed to pursue such a venture. If you're skilled in vocation or profession people demand (he's a tree surgeon) you can go almost anywhere in the world and use your skills to make good money.

Otherwise you will be paid in local currency at the local average wage, and then NO you won't save. The ideal situation is to keep your $10/hr income (assumption) and live in any mexican city which has a considerable lower cost of living than their american counterparts. This is the only feasible scenario that can make you save a lot of money (or live like a king)

Most chemicals to make drugs come FROM mexico, such as phteamine based chems like ephedrine etc. Mexico is also plays a huge roll in the underground railroad for the smuggling of cocain. A lot of weapons come from the US but other countries sell them cheaper. Once again this comes to locking down our borders and being more strict on a closed border policy.

Actually, I don't think the chemicals come from the US. One of the thing that has started happening since the US began to really restrict chemicals (we have to give ID and a signature to get cough medicine for Pete's sake) is that we've caught a lot of people coming from Mexico with the chemicals, because they are so hard to buy here. They want to have meth labs and distribute here. Drug money I am not sure about, because we have all sorts of programs to try to keep people off of drugs and we obviously haven't hit on a fix yet. But if you stop the drugs, there will be nothing to buy.

I prefer places in Mexico that are far away from the resorts and touristy areas. Little towns that are full of good Mexican family type people. I didn't notice if they were rich or poor. I did however notice extreme poverty in the U.S., along with very, very high crime. It made me cry, in one city, to think that people had to live there. This was before the 2008 crash. Before my first trip to the U.S., I thought everyone there was going to be rich, skinny and beautiful. I was a young teenager, and that was all I'd ever seen on tv. Before I went to Mexico, I was warned and believed that I'd have to hide all my belongings from any of the 'locals' as they'd steal from me. And to be careful of the Mexican men. I'd never seen so many poor, unkempt, obese, dirty people as I did in the U.S. (Newport Beach, C.A.), and, I'd never been to such a nice place as Mexico. And, the Mexicans were absolute lovely people. In Mexico, the only men to worry about for me, were the fat, money bags, Americans leering at the young Mexican girls. Funny how powerful the media can be.

Horse slaughter is a market owned by a few foreigners that did NOT pay gross income Taxes nor did they respect laws as based on a 1949 Texas law that outlawed horse slaughter. They open up secretly from cattle to horses. Yes in the past horse slaughter was booming only because it was secretly done mixing in beef and feeding cats and dogs anything to make a buck. Once exposed most went out of business. Now when these few owned the market they had no competition so they would lie and do anything to promote there inhumane business. Most people that support horse slaughter are making money one way or another either by overbreeding to a few bottom feeders that arent educated enough to realize the problems they are creating. I can bet not one of these pro slaughter people even know what a horse rescue is or how they operate and they clearly dont donate to rescues. Horse slaughter actually promotes abuse and neglect and rewards irresponsible people for there crimes. You stop horse slaughter first then you fine and jail these abusers not reward them. Breeding continues to drop and horse prices become affordable. Its time for responsiblity not to slaughter your way out of an Oboligation. What next are we going to slaughter old folks because they are milking our government goodies because there arent enough people working because of the economy. It is not the fact that horses are being slaughtered for meat that should concern people it is HOW they are being slaughtered. If you have livestock then you sure as heck are going to have dead stock. Any animal has the right to a good life and a good death. What happens to the carcass after doesn't matter whether it is buried, burned or eaten. Not everyone is in a position to bury their horse in a hole in their garden and wild horses need to be managed. If I was in the US I would not be fighting to stop horse slaughter I would be fighting to get humane transport to closer abattoirs, to have each animal killed out of sight of others and the handling of them humane. In the UK it is very different with strict laws on travel, and the holding and killing (for all killing whether sheep, pig, horse or cow) vet has to be present to ensure that all is done correctly and humanely. This is how it should be in the USA.

because mexico doesnt have labor laws like the US. and plus we have building codes we have to go by in the US where as Mexico doesnt.
