How to make a living in Mexico?
Ive recently went on a trip to Puerto Vallarta and I fell in love with the city and its people. I cried for days wishing to go back. Ive made the decision that im going to continue my life there within the next five years. I understand that im not going to make much money there no matter what kind of job i may find there. my question is what possible job opportunities that are open for me so that i can make a living while im there? Im aware of jobs such as: ~Time share sales person ~English teacher teacher Any information on those jobs would be super helpful. And any other ways of making a living in Mexico is strongly appericated. Actually, I was in Puerto Vallarta for a month, my grandfather has a condo at Molino de agua (right in old town). I brought small toys and school supplies along to give out to the poor childern there ( which there were many of them) just seeing smiles on their faces made me realized that i love people and i would love to continue a living im mexico or somewhere where people dont take life for graunted. And i wasn't just stuck in the city, we stayed in San Sebastian and visted other little villages.

I'm not sure about the English teacher thing. You'll probably need some American proof like a certificate or something...or High School Diploma. Calderon is really setting things now... The Education field in Mexico trying to be improved... Maybe time share..?? Good Luck!!

Ok, First let me introduce myself....i´m mexican and let me tell you something....Mexico is really wonderfull....and you, as a foreing, you can work in many ways....for exzmple: in tourists centers, hotels, restaurants, all those specially in a touristic zone like Puerto vallarta!! But if you want another kind of work...the best opcion and the one i recomend to you is to be an English teacher, you don´t need a document (if you have a certificate is better) you just have to demostrate that you are foreinger...everybody would like to have a teacher from anothr country and tou will make a lot of money because here in mexico people have to study a lot for being an English teacher, they have to study, specialize, practice and get documents....but if you are from Uk it´s very very very easy. Greetings from Mexico :D

English Teacher at a chain school, not sure which ones are there but there is information probably on Daveseslcafe. Teachers at those kind of schools usually get like $45-$48 pesos per hour with 5 classes maximum so you could make $30 dollars a day if you are lucky. Or you could work at a hotel maybe and get like $200 pesos/day. You always have to work 6 days a week so be prepared. It's far from glamourous, the opposite really... after awhile you'll be poor too and you will see the way life really is in Mexico. Maybe timeshare people make more, don't know. Other opportunities for you could be entertainment staff at a hotel or working for a company called Vallarta Adventures as a tour guide or photographer. For information on jobs and apartments visit the website Mano a mano... just type it in google to find it "mano a mano puerto vallarta".

Mikey is retired in Acapulco. See this a lot ............ First - vacationing in any city in Mexico is not the REAL Mexico. It is polished for the tourist's. To get a feel for a possible life here you need to visit PV for a month if not 2. Look at it from a residents point of view. 6 day work weeks , low wages , transportation , housing , food shopping , stray dogs , chickens etc. Second - Misael is completely wrong ! He is Mexican. Working here is IMPOSSIBLE for a gringo . You would need to be a nuclear scientist to be able to get your FM3 card. Not gonna happen - cost's hundred's of dollars as well . Do not attempt to work here w/o it - the Mexicans are a dog eat dog mentality and will not look favorably at you for taking a job their brother could do. Here is a great site to save a lot of writing. Lot's of info for you. http://www.rollybrook.com/workingfm3.htm

idk if they have a Diamond's International in Puerto Vallarta (which is likely bcuz these stores are in most cruise ship ports) but these people hired me on the spot in Cozumel simply because I knew English and they taught me the rest...you'll get anywhere from 400 to 800 a month (depending) plus commissions. They acquired a FM3 for me. After proving myself with them they started transferring me to their Alaska port for the slow season in Mexico and I lived in both places for about a year before I wanted to go home again. The money in Alaska was FREAKIN' AMAZING (I literally saved thousands) and they provided housing as well so we had little expenses. btw is Mikey is right about most of what he says...I got so discouraged living on such small wages 6 days a week...never had two pesos to rub together. It's a hard life there. I'm glad I had my experience and I think you should too but be prepared to have your rose colored glasses yanked right off

Work online and you can make you about 20-50 dollars a month from each website. If you spend some time and sign up for them then all combined together you can make anywhere from 60-150 dollars a month. Here are some websites to start you off If you like this suggestion please follow these links and add me as a referral to help me out too http://tinyurl.com/lmm922 This website offers you points to complete offers. On average you earn 25 points per offer and a hundred points gives you one dollar. http://tinyurl.com/n3wjmr This website pays you for searching with their search engine. You get paid in swagbucks and they are redeemable for prize. http://tinyurl.com/koxkge This is kind of a gambling website but it also has search and win available. This website uses real money and you can bet on the games you play. They are relatively easy until the point you start betting more than 10 bucks per game All these websites have referrals. Once you get a good tree going you don't even have to work. Like me I check up on these sites once a week and redeem my money. Without doing anything just from my referrals i manage to make about 60 dollars a month.

How can I sell older used heavy equipment in Mexico. What are some sources that I can check on?
How can I sell older used heavy equipment in Mexico. What are some sources that I can check on?
I am an dirtwork contractor that is also in used heavy equipment (dump trucks, dozers, tractors, etc.) sales. I have heard that there is a good market in Mexico for older machinery due to the lack of current technology. I am interested in finding out more about this in order to find a new market, as well as use this for a chance to be able to visit Mexico and make monye at the same time. I constantly see Meicans towing older vehicles down the interstate to Mexico. I would also like to know what the equipment would bring there compared to here. If there are any other ideas as to what I could do to be able to visit the country and make money at the same time along these similar lines they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, King

Here are some helpful links: Travel info: http://www.traveldocs.com/mx/index.htm Yellow pages (choose a state in Mexico & search for heavy equipment: http://seccionamarilla.com.mx/default.asp As for the towing & transporting of vehicles, you would have to conttact the Mexican Embassy (in the USA) near you and request that info. They will give you the forms and what you need to be able to transport what you want. Easier than you think!! Good luck. ;o) http://www.vec.ca/english/10/consulates-usa.cfm

What do Hispanic girls down south in Mexico like for gifts, But not Money. I met a few, and I know they don’t make much money in Mexico, So I was thinking what they would enjoy as a gift that they would find out of their personal budgets. Thanks for any tips. Plus what cigarettes do they like to smoke?

Yes you can. I do only contact work, and I get paid a hourly rate and all expenses, expenses include hotel, rental car, gas, meals, and airline ticket home every weekend. I fly in Monday morning and fly out Thursday afternoon. Then work from home on Friday. I know several people that I work with that live in Canada and fly in to the US. So I sure you could do the same from Mexico. You would just need to live by a major airport. Sometimes you can get projects that you can do remotely. The client like this as they don't have to pay expenses then. I do SAP consulting.

Summer is probably less expensive overall, but the deistination does not have a true season, like a place like Cancun does. Just try to avoid any holiday periods...
2 :
I quickly made a check and found the average price to be 660 to San Diego, CA. You're better off going to San Diego then taking the San Diego Trolley to Tijuana. When you arrive at Lindbergh Field you can take a shuttle to the trolley which will take you to the border for about 2.50 US dollars. The border is 15 minutes from the airport by car, and about 45 using the trolley.

acording with Marketing Research companies the level of income in Mexico goes something like A/B (rich people) from 10,000+ usd income per month. C+ ( Middle high class ) from 5,000 us to $9900 monthly C (Middle class) from 800 to 4999 usd per month D.- ( poverty but almost out, this is the average income of most large cities in mexico) 400usd til 799 monthly D-.-(poverty covering some essential needs) from 200 usd to 399 E.- (EXTREME poverty not covering essential needs 16 % of the population) less than 200 usd monthly. Check out BIMSA research of Mexico city.

Poverty in Mexico is different than poverty in the U.S. There are no food stamps or WIC for poor families. No Medicaid, and few social welfare programs. Poverty in Mexico is living in a tin or thatch shack with dirt floors, cooking outside on a wood fire, maybe having a waterpipe outside to get water from...maybe not. No washer, no stove, no refrigerator. I live in Mexico. I have friends and neighbors who are "poor"...live in a one room house , but have a cement floor, running water, a bathroom. a gas stove. But others live in what we would call a shack, dirt floors, wood fires, no indoor plumbing. Most of the extremely poor can neither read nor write and had less than 3 years of school. The education system has room for a GREAT deal of improvement, but at least there is more emphasis on education now and the children of the very poor are more likely to go to school than their parents...IF there is a school available. and IF it is any good. In some parts of the country, this is a great problem. Many of the illegals who enter the U.S. are from these circumstances, and are desparate to better themselves and take care of their families. Seeing this first-hand helps one understand them a little bit better. This does NOTmean I think Immigration...either legal or illegal is the solution..but it does help me understand.

I just got back from Mexico and was looking for a job. If you are unskilled and work at a hotel you make around 30 - 50 pesos a day. I could not find any jobs that required an education, but they are there.

Imagine. A family with economy necessities earns per week around 80-100 dlls. U.S. pays good money per hour comparing with Mexico. Some people who lives in poverty in your country it's cuz they lazy.
