I'm 17 and going to New Mexico to stay with my dad for the summer. I don't want to get a real job because I'll be traveling a lot. Would it be retarded for a teenager to have a lemonade stand or a bake sale? How can a teenage gypsy make some cash?

Try babysitting, house sitting, dog walking, mowing lawns, anything that you can set your own hours. Work at carnival food stands, you'll need to apply when they are setting up. Plus some food stands work at flea markets during the week. Some places will work around your schedule even in you are moving around alot. Places like Mc Donalds, and Burger King, it sucks working for fast food, but if you let them know that you only want to work for a few hours a week they can work with you. good luck. P.S. If you can't work volunteer, you never know who you will meet and who knows of a job opening that you will like.

and I don't mean mowing lawns or cleaning the house or babysitting, I mean anything out there that I can do at thirteen? And no answers like "wait two years and find out" I mean like something. I live in New Mexico if that has anything to do with it.

The only places i know of that will employ under 18's are paper rounds, but they usually pay very little, and markets. Go to your local market and ask around. These jobs are usually very menial but pay well. These jobs are like gold dust to get, but if you get one your set for a few months money wise

i'm 13, nearly 14& i need to make quite a bit of money by december (for a holiday, with friends to Mexico) anyway, all my neighbours are horrible&wouldnt pay me to do anything, my mum doesn't give me an allowance& my dad doesn't live with me&wouldn't give me anything, if i asked, he doesn't give my mum any money, and he gives us no money on birthdays/christmases. so how can i make money, thank you phoebe xx

Well once you turn 14 you can get a job at Sonic and maybe some other fast food places. They can only work you 18 hours a week during school and 40 hours during the summer. However they can't work you past 7pm during the school year and can't work you past 9pm during the summer. It's state law. Till then maybe try to get a baby sitting job or something. That's really about it. I hope this helps.

Cook for the elderly if you can (small things like a grilled cheese, sandwiches, mac and cheese, etc.), All these can help u to get money fast.

How can I live in one country and make money in another?
I am trying to find a way that I can earn my living in the US but live in mexico. Are there any jobs that i could do 100% online? I am american citizen, currently working on my BA in Networking and Telecommunication, is there another degree that would better suite my needs?

well you probably can't get hired at stores & such cuz most employers hire at 16+....so maybe you can babysit and do chores around the house or for your neighbors.

Working graveyard shifts in a 24hr supermarket. Good money and easy work. Unfortunately it will be crap hours and you'll have no social life but its best way to save.

im 13 and i baby-sit twice a week...i get paied $10 a day...(they offered to pay $20 a day but my mom thought that was too much and plus 1 of them hasnt had a job for a while....)but it is fun and i enjoy it...if u dont like that...do the classic...sell lemonade..hehe...it does work..=P good luck!!

depending on what state you live in, you may need to be a certain age to get working papers. Usually that age is 14, so you should be good. Many resturants could use help, whether it be hostessing, busing tables or washing dishes. Waitng tables is where you find the most money in a resturant, but you may have to be older to do that. If you live by the beach, lifegurading and badgechecking can be great jobs, but remember to wear sunscreen! Also, many local stores may be looking for a helping hand to do odd jobs. Ask around even if there arent an "help wanted" signs in the window, you never know if people need you. Remember to be polite when talking to a perspective employer, and to show your responsibility. Babysitting is also a great way to make money, and a simple job since many families pay 10 dollars an hour and even more. If your a boy and skeptical about babysitting (you shouldn't be though!), try getting a job with a landscaping company. Try not to spend your money as you earn it too. Put 50%, or even 75% into an envolope and mark that as Mexico money, and DO NOT spend it. Good luck and have fun in Mexico!!!

I was 14 when I started working. It depends on where you live but you can make pretty good money working on a farm. They always need help. I worked for a farm that was called Pony Express and they provided amusements like pony rides, moon bounces, etc... around the farm they always need help. It's hard work, I'm not gonna sugar coat it but if you really want to work for the money, go talk to your friendly farmer. Promise him you will be there early in the morning and you will do whatever he needs done. (Including shoveling poop from stalls) Hope this helps ya!

Work permits are required for minors, and you need to be 15 1/2 minimum to get one in California. Most employers wont consider anyone under age 16. Selling items on eBay is one way to go. Paper route is another way, but the pay sucks, it's labor intensive, it can and is most often a 7 day a week gig, and it's a slow process to get paid. Your best bet is yard work and in particular mowing lawns. I made over $600 doing this at 14 over the summer. Go door to door with a lawn mower. (If you don't have one borrow one, or as a last resort offer to use the owners mower if they have one) Offer $10 for the front lawn (Assuming it's a medium to small lawn) and tell them you will throw in the back yard for only another $5 (Again assuming it's a medium to small lawn) If they have a large or huge lawn add $5-$10 to the price. You always want them to feel like they are getting a deal, and remember it's about volume of lawns mowed, not about getting the most $ per customer. (make sure you take a full gas can with you) Good Luck!
