How successful are your senators and congressmen in getting federal stimulus money?
What do you think about political influence as a factor in deciding how the money will be spent? Here is a story about stimulus money going to small border checkpoints while large border crossings from Mexico are not making out as well. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090826/ap_on_go_co/us_stimulus_border_crossings_2 How do you think that method of awarding money affects other critical areas?

I hope mine is an absolute failure. I want to see NO more debt piled up in the name of "stimulus". What a waste! We do need to spend money on the repair of infrastructure but that is because of past neglect. Too much has been wasted. Obama is going to double our National debt and that isn't the fault of George Bush. Obama OWNS our new debt and HE is the one responsible for it.

My senators are actually against stimulus spending and voted against both the Bush and the Obama stimulus plans. All of the spending is based on who cries the loudest and who has the most influence, regardless of whether the spending makes sense or not. There's no other way to explain why stimulus money is paying for an $800,000 overhaul of a virtually unused small airport named after Rep. John Murtha. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/12/AR2009051202679.html

I pray that my Congressional Members would think of the country first and not their re-election --- but they have failed me everytime. Sen. Amy K. is pleased as rum punch to spend $1.1 Billion on an 11mile street level rail system that no-one want and will not cover operating expenses. Her friend are buying up land along the route to build high price condo's so that all state/federal government workers will be nearer to their important work of taking money from productive people. Sen. Al (Porn) is just starting his spending. And my Congress member has never seen a pork bill that could not be brought home.
