I want to make lots of money here but I'm illegal?

I want to make lots of money here but I'm illegal?
I am a 16 year old straight A student in high school. All my life I believed I was a citizen of the USA because my parents never told me that I was brought here illegally while I was 2 years old. I want to be a chemical engineer and make tons of money. I want to make more money than most white people do. But I'm reading that I won't be able to get a job here due to not having legal status. That is NOT fair to me, in my opinion. Other people who I thought were my peers are actually in a class that is ABOVE me, even though I get better grades than them and have many more ambitions than them. I have dreams like all the other kids. Why am I not allowed at least the CHANCE to be in the top 10% income earning bracket of the country. Why don't I deserve the chance to be rich like white people? Someone told me that the only way I have to get legal status here is for the dream act to pass, or to go back to my country of origin which is Mexico. I don't want to go to Mexico. AMERICA is MY country. I have always lived here. It is here that I want to make lots and lots of money.

You have to take the test for legal status, it takes a lot of studying but since you've lived here all your life it might not be as hard for you. Honestly it's your parents fault not the legal citizens of the US.
3 :
you know i find this hard to believe. your parents had to of told you not to go out and start trouble because the police would come and take all of you away. i don't buy that line any more. it's terrible for what your parents and other parents have done to their kids. but i really think you need to talk to your parents about being legal. you will have to go back to you birth country and apply their good luck. there will never be a dream act as long as people like me are around. should i demand my govt pay to send my kid to collage because her DREAM is to be a dr.
4 :
If you are so smart, and apparently greedy, you should be able to understand you are not a US citizen and until you correct that problem, this is only YOUR DREAM! You are also a typical mexican racist.
5 :
In the future, go see lawyer that specializes in immigration. Talk to him for 30 minutes (which may cost you 100 dollars) and explain your position. He'll definitely be able to help out. If all else fails, use your chemical engineering skills to build bombs for teh epic jihad and revenge against white elitists.
6 :
"Why don't I deserve the chance to be rich like white people?" ------------- You know, if you had indicated some level of interest in America besides the opportunity to make "lots and lots of money" and "be rich like white people", I might have had some sympathy for you. As it is, you come across as a racist illegal alien whiner. It is NOT FAIR that you have stolen opportunities that a legal immigrant is waiting in line for. It is NOT FAIR that U.S. taxpayers are subsidizing your K-12 education. If you want to be "legal" here, your best bet is, before the age of 18 1/2, to return to Mexico and apply to come here on a student visa. At age 18, the decision to remain here illegally is YOUR CHOICE, NOT YOUR PARENTS. It's a shame that your parents put you in this position, but make no mistake, THEY PUT YOU IN THIS POSITION. It is not up to us to get you out of it.
7 :
The DREAM Act is not going to pass. It's never going to pass. When it gets killed again this year, for the third time, it'll never be introduced in Congress again. You only have 2 1/2 more years until you are officially an illegal immigrant.
8 :
I FEEL U PAIN don't give up ,its alot of chances u may have on ur future , i ma on the same one i will always try my best to get there some americas don't understanding what we feel when we live here for too long this its are home I LOVE AMERICA!!!
9 :
people, here is a future rapist , drug seller, drunken driver.we should save this poor soul before its to late. as he stated hes another one of those high performers in school and of course all he wants to do is give back to his community. don't you just love this b.s. from illegals sob stories crowd
10 :
Here's a thought! Go back to Mexico and get an education there! They have schools there! They have chemicals there! They have your citizenship there! We have paid enough for the crimes of your parents!
11 :
Go back to your own country when you reach 18. You are then in charge of your own life. You can then apply to come back to the USA the legal way. Tell your parents how FAIR they were in doing this to you. Since it is their fault, let them pay for your plane trip hope and living accommodations until you can legally come back here. You would not only not be hired, but I would be most surprised if you would even be allowed to attend a school for your studies. Your only CHANCE is to go to your own country. It seems that all illegal aliens have excellent grades. Those do not mean squat. You are illegally present in the USA. The dream act will never, ever pass. You do need to go back to your own country, Mexico, not remain in mine, USA, illegally. You will be washing dishes the rest of your life here, being an illegal.
12 :
here we go again, how many times are you going to ask the same question, the answers will not change. You are getting more than you deserve now, your parents have made you a lawbreaker, dream act will not pass, American citizens do not want to reward you for the criminal actions of your parents! Why are you racist in using white people as an example. Why not do what is right and return to where you belong before you are 181/2 and file the right way, I know you did not have a good example for following laws, but this will be your only chance to become legal. It is not fair what your parents have done to our laws and our taxpayers either. Age of being made an illegal does not matter, just means your parents have used you as an accessory to their crime for 14 years. Must be hard with no example to follow.
13 :
If the immigration reform bill passes you dream will come true! I guess if any human being was in you place would want to get papers and live legally as we all do. If people are living illegally in USA and not paying taxes we complain that they do not pay any taxes, now the government want to make them legal and make them pay taxes we still have a problem. Arn't we hypocrites! The business lobby is very strong in USA most of the politicians are against this new immigration reform because President Obama has very strong/harsh fines for businesses who hire illegals after the bill is passed. This bill will really enforce the tough penalties against employers of illegal immigrants working. I support 100% Mr. Obama for this tough decisions Here are the links to President Obama's Videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKQ8ap-d6zg&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi17AYMESJ0
14 :
You need to see a reputable immigration lawyer ASAP. A lawyer may be able to fix this before you turn 18. But after you turn 18 there is no hope. I know it is expensive but that is what it takes.
15 :
PEDRO (geesh could your name not fit in any better lol) LISTEN, unfortunately for you, you ARE at a CONSCIOUS AGE where you are AWARE you are ILLEGAL, this knowledge will work against you in a court of law. Sorry babe, but you cant do much, what I suggest you do is finish High School, file for an ITIN NUMBER (this is a 9 digit number that is given to those that have no SSN, this can be used to file taxes) DO NOT get in any illegal trouble.....you're already breaking the law as it is. even though it is easy to blame your parents, you are a grown boy to know where you stand. I am not against you, or for you, you actually irritated me when you made the comment about "rich white people" thats a STUPID comment. EVERYONE can be wealthy if theyre NOT lazy, freeloader, or ignorant..........I have much more to say but I fell I'll never finish. P.S. STOP blaming your parents.........cuz I'm sure they didnt do this to HARM you, YOU can also make a difference in MEXICO, by becoming an C.E. there. Good Luck
16 :
Blame your parents, not the government. Get a lawyer and fix your issues. Terrorists get straights A's in Chemistry, too, now that I think about it. You will not stay for that reason alone. Your question absolutely reeks of foreign arrogance, if you think you are better than Americans, leave, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

General Strategies on Saving Money and Earning More Money Save as much money as you can! You'll be surprised as to how quickly you can save a lot of money! Here are a few suggestions: Ways To Save Money & Ways To Earn More Money (Updated on 08/12/2010) Don't go out to eat. Example: don't eat out at fancy, high-class restaurants. Instead, eat at a fast food restaurant or cook a healthy meal at home. It is much cheaper than the alternative. If you are a teen or a young adult, you might want to hold a bake sale. You can have your other friends help you out, so that you can help attain your goal of saving and/or making more money. If you have a habit of buying new clothes very often, then resist the urge to buy new clothes for a little while. You could potentially save a good amount of money. Take personal finance courses online or at a high school or college/university. If you are a teen or a young adult, you may want to have a dog-walking service. To help you manage your money, try http://www.mint.com/ Talk to a customer service representative at a bank or other financial institution and learn more about financial instruments. Don't go out to watch new movies in theaters. Watch movies on your TV at home. Rent movies using Netflix. If you are a teen, you may want to think about babysitting. You can babysit your neighbor's children. Don't spend too much money when going out with friends. Have a budget in mind before you actually meet up with your friends. If you are a teen, you could try to mow the lawn. Many of your neighbors probably want their lawns to be mowed at a fraction of the price that they pay others to do the same work. Invest your money in a CD (certificate of deposit). You can hold your money in a CD for 6 months or even a year. It generally pays more interest than the interest you get from a traditional savings account from a bank. If you are a teen, do chores around the house. Your parents will appreciate it and you might get some money for it. If you like to invest your money in the stock market, then you may want to invest your money in a commodity, such as gold. The value/price of gold is expected to increase in the future. If you are a teen, then make sure to save the money that you get from your allowance (if you get an allowance). If you like to invest your money in the stock market, then you may want to invest your money in specific large-cap and medium-cap companies that you trust. Apple (Stock Symbol: AAPL) and Google (Stock Symbol: GOOG) are two such stocks where you can choose to invest your money. Try to sell something of value that you are willing to part with. Sell your old stuff on websites where many people make purchases, such as ebay or craigslist. You could also sell your stuff through a garage sale or a yard sale. Try to hold a donation drive where your family, close friends, neighbors, and other acquaintances will be able to help you out and donate a little bit of money. These people will include your parents, brothers, sisters, close friends, relatives, grandparents, neighbors, and other acquaintances. If all else fails, borrow money from other people (parents, brothers, sisters, close friends, relatives, grandparents, neighbors, acquaintances, etc.) in order to get a short-term loan. ======== Invest Your Money in the Stock Market Google Stock Symbol: GOOG Apple Stock Symbol: AAPL Berkshire Hathaway Inc Stock Symbol: BRK.A Stock Symbol: BRK.B Bank of America Corp Stock Symbol: BAC CVS Caremark Corp Stock Symbol: CVS 3M Co Stock Symbol: MMM Microsoft Corporation Stock Symbol: MSFT Yahoo! Why is it Harley makes more money selling foreign fashion accessories than bikes?

Why is it Harley makes more money selling foreign fashion accessories than bikes?
Harley Davidson makes more money selling clothing, keychains and "officially licensed merchandise" than they do from selling bikes. Further, 99% of this merchandise is made in china, malaysia, and mexico. Even their bikes contain foreign parts from places like italy and china and are far less reliable or technologically advanced as other bikes. How am I, as a proud American, supposed to get excited about an "American" product, when it is far more inferior, way pricier, and less reliable than most other motorcycles out there and the company that builds it makes most of its money selling foreign fashion garbage? Doesn't spending my hard earned money on something like this just make me stupid?
Motorcycles - 7 Answers

1 :
Most Harley riders are homos who only ride down to the local gay bar to pick up dudes, so they don't need a bike that is reliable or fast. The biggest money maker in the Harley apparel line are the leather assless chaps that the homo Harley dudes love so much...
2 :
Well, I would pretty much expect your question to provoke a firestorm of threats against you, along with verbal abuse. Having said that, you are correct. In my experience (30+ yrs on bikes), people who ride Harleys care more about their "image" than they do about motorcycles. It is supposed to signal they are tough, macho, independent, free-spirit bad boys. Big deal. People who really care about comfort, speed, handling, or long distance abilty will ride something else.
3 :
Absolutely - it does make you a fool to waste your money on that. Why do they sell more products than actual bikes? Because people are sheep, and they will buy anything that is a status symbol. The only thing I would buy with a Harley logo is toilet paper (they sell it I swear!) that way, I could wipe my dirty a*s on their logo!!!!!!!! I never understood the point of paying three times as much for a bike that performs half as well... But, if you build it, morons will come!
4 :
Because you wouldn't buy a Harley for performance, speed, comfort, handling, any of the reasons most bikers buy bikes. Harleys are all about the image, not the actuality, of biking. Most Harleys get ridden very little, some just sit at home getting polished. So the only way their owners can tell the world, "Hey, look at me, I'm a big bad biker" is by wearing lots of Harley branded items. However, this doesn't make them bad people. Just gullible.
5 :
"Doesn't spending my hard earned money on something like this just make me stupid?" No, but getting upset about it does... So does blindly accepting "facts" someone else has posted on the Internet with no proof or references to back them up. Yes, Harley-Davidson uses some foreign content parts to build their motorcycles. So what? So does General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, to name a few... Have you tried to buy an American built television set or personal computer? Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi all build cars and light trucks here in the USA, and our big-three auto makers all sell to markets overseas. It's got to the point that about the only thing you can buy any more that's 100% American sourced and made is the milk you get from your local dairy store (And even then, maybe some of the cows came from Canada...) It's a world market out there. Get Over It!
6 :
Well, you have alot of questions. I have a Harley. It's a 2002 lowrider and I have 34000 miles on it. I have had some minor mechanical problems, but the fun I have had on this bike far outweighs the few problems I have had. I feel confident in saying that should I take a notion to sell my bike I would get alot more out of it then I would a similar bike by another company. I have checked the prices of new bikes similar to mine and they aren't that much cheaper, maybe 20%. I have also checked the price of used bikes with the same miles as mine. They lose roughly 66% of their value, where mine has lost about 25%. That doesn't seem too stupid to me. By the way, Harley motorcycles are made in America by Americans. I've been to the plant and I am proud my purchase keeps americans working. I am aware some parts are foreign made, but most are not. I am also aware that Harley Davidson could care less about keeping americans working, but they have to if they want to keep selling their product. Oh, if you don't like Harleys don't buy one. And don't worry about what I ride.
7 :
This questions really pertains to people's impatience. Rather than save up for a new Harley, it's quicker and cheaper to buy a $300 dollar leather jacket or a $30 tshirt and live the lie at your local bar. Women, who buy more motorclothes than men, love the fashion statement without the financial commitment. Also, I bought a new Harley last year and have put 18,000 trouble free miles on in just under 13 months. The new twin cam engines are amazing and the word "inferior" just doesn't apply...anymore.

I have an idea........to help Mexico and make people love and respect their country and want to stay?
We are all so pissed about the "illegal immigration" instead of "protesting and wanting to shoot" why don't we fix the problem. Why not use the money that we are currently spending on illegals here usefully. Like select a coaliation of "amazing engineers, politicians, civil rights activists" and have them implement a program in Mexico. I would suggest a year or longer commitment to this plan. Politics aside....you send a force like that and people will stop trying to run and say "lets see what they can do"? What do you think? Hello....read the details...I said USE THE MONEY WE ARE CURRENTLY SPENDING ON ILLEGALS (MEDICAL, FOODSTAMPS, ETC.) AND PAY THE COALITION.

Hey genius, these people are CRIMINALS, nothing more. They need to be shipped off to the southern tip of South America so they dont return. ALL of them.
2 :
Good idea but who is going to pay this coalition of amazing people? The taxpayers of the USA or the Mexican people? Where does the funds come from? The coalition people can't work for free, either, they have bills to pay and families to feed, too.
3 :
Like a Marshal Plan? I think it's a good idea and worth the cost.
4 :
You are suggesting that we give them even more of our resources then we are now? It is really about law and resources. The more illegals the more criminals..the more resources gone for ever from your family and mine.
5 :
Yeah that's what we need more civil rights activist to pay. I think they need to hire more sharp shooters and protect the borders.

USe the money we are already spending?....And then pay DOUBLE because we'll still be supporting the ones that are still here while this CHANGE is taking place in Mexico?....No thanks.
8 :
I think that it sounds like a great idea, but at the same time Mexico needs a president that gives to their country instead of away from their country. I have been to parts of Mexico and it saddens me to see a beautiful country look so poor.I know alot of people are saying "What about our country" I have to say that at least our country has job opportunities that Mexico don't. Their is a reason why immigrants come here. Instead of looking down on them we should be proud and support them. After all this country was built on immigrants.
9 :
Mexico's big problem is debt. They owe like 161 billion dollars today. They borrowed it from the US and Europe back during the Depression.Maybe they should forgive it.......And here comes the insults....
10 :
It´s a lovely idea, but doesn´t sound like anything the current US administration would go for. After all, while hyping the immigration issue in the media and, frankly, whipping up racism, they are also quite happy to turn a blind eye to US businesses using cheap illegal labour. It´s happening in all western countries at the moment. The media, backed by the government, incites its citizens to be worried about illegal immigration, while the economy actually benefits from the black market economy working with it. I´m in Mexico now on holiday, but staying with family. It´s a hard place, with a bad atmosphere. It definitely needs some help, but everyone here says the corruption is so far reaching, there is no hope. Your idea is nice but too socialist for anyone in today´s political arena and, like Iraq, would require serious investment, commitment and integrity..... never forget it´s all about the money.
11 :
Seems like a good idea. EU had its mexicos too and Germany and France had to pump in a lot of cash to get them up and running. Maybe "a coalition of 'amazing engineers, politicians, civil rights activists'" is a little condescending, though. If I have it right, EU sets macroeconomic targets for its membership candidates. It would take a whole lot more than a year, but eventually would payoff
12 :
Very unlikely the Mexican governement would even consider an action like that. It would disrupt their corruptive system and Mexico depends heavily on the 1/3 of GNP the illegal and legal immigrants send back to Mexico.
13 :
Yeah right! Send them to the bottom of the sea for all I care. Why spend more money on these useless criminals. All the money they get is going back to mexico and el salvador, guatamala ect. You want to give them more? Why don't you leave with them?
14 :
I don't think it would be that easy, but something in that direction could work.
15 :
IT'S NICE WHEN U THINK ABOUT IT, BUT THERE IS TOO MUCH RED TAPE, AND AMERICA HAS HELPED MEXICO ENOUGH
16 :
you live on planet stupid
17 :
ha ha yeah like we give them more and more

What do you think about the latest news about illegal aliens from Mexico?

What do you think about the latest news about illegal aliens from Mexico?
I take no side, I just want to know what people think. I mean, the people came here to make money, and they'll have to pay what's about half their yearly salary (said most get an income of about 12k per year). But then they say there's the jobs they take up. Yet how many of you want to do other peoples' lawns, and other jobs they take? I don't know, this is a pretty twisted subject. I mean, I see reason on one side, and I see reason on the other as well. Any feedback?

If i had my way id load them up in buses and haul all their asses back across the border.Theyre all criminals.
4 :
I live in an area where there a lot of Mexicans than there are Asians, African Americans, Whites, Europeans, and from the Pacific Islanders. I mean this is so rediculous, the Mexican government in Mexico is so corrupted, and they abused the rich resources in Mexico. Personally, I dont care about how I am Asian and I am surrounded by Mexican-owned businesses, and Mexican owned houses or apartments, if they stay here, they deserve to be here. I have no problems why the president is making a big deal out of this, but well regulating the border lines is great. Too much restrictions after 9/11 happened.
5 :
I know if I lived in a corrupt country that had a lousy economy while living poorly, I would want to come here too. So, Let them come. Thanks for listening. I dont mind if people give me the thumbs down. :) p.s

well u can get a small job like at toco bell or something..thats what i would do..also u could get an alounce.
2 :
work around the neighborhood. you can legally be paid for anything, since you have to be 14 with working papers. so you cant work in a store, or somewhere where there would be signs that say "now hiring" but babysitting, cutting the grass, or whatever for your neighbors. when i was 12, a family paid me for tutoring their child.
3 :
Store it in the bank. You can work for your parents and ask your neighbors if they need any baby sitting or maybe they need someone to look over their pets over vacation.
4 :
You could do it the easy way and start a store in an abandond house or shed? or the hard way beg for money on the street. (or do both!) ;)
5 :
- babysit - design shirts and sell them - open an ebay account and sell basically anything you don't need - get a job you can do at your age - wait till you're a bit older so people would hire you for something - collect money around the house or around the street - draw beautiful things and sell them on ebay - basically get everything you don't need and price it for a bit more than you got it for - design backpacks for people - have a big bake sale - lemonade stand in a busy place - learn to knit and knit good-quality scarves and stuff - do hair and makeup tutoring - i doubt this one but makeovers are good - tutor people and get lots of money - write a book and sell it - clean up places for people - help out the elderly - petsit - this can be very fun and you can earn a lot of money from it! - if you have like a celebrity's autograph make a copy and sell it - will be hard to do - make a list of things you would appreciate being helped with and do it for others These are simple things you can do and if you do them all it should add up to a whole lotta money!

A great way to make money online is to have a successful blog. You have to be realistic and know that it is not easy to make instant cash online. You have to build your sites reputation a little bit and do some work, but it can really pay off. There are bloggers out there making up to $10,000 a month. It's almost like self job creation. You are at your full time job working a few hours a week building your blog. Than moving to a part time job while working a few hours a week on your blog obtaining an income from it, than eventually you won't need a job and you will be working from home and on track to potentially retiring early. If you are curious and want to look into making some money through blogging over time, than I would head over to www.Kleek.ca and look at the free 6 day eCourse they have called "Pocket Change Profits". It gives excellent tools and techniques to earning an online income through blogging. Learning is part of the whole process. If you can't commit to learning the right way to make money online than you're never going to share the internet lifestyle that many people enjoy and you might as well stick to that 9-5 job the rest of your life. Look at it this way. Would you rather work hard for a year on creating a stable online income or work hard for the rest of your life at a job you won't ever fully appreciate or enjoy. Another nifty site where you can actually make money instantly is www.mturk.com, compare this to the reality of actually making money online instantly. Making real money online does take time and it is a learning process which has its ups and downs, but it can be a lot of fun along the way and can really pay off!

If i live in the U.S., can I play online poker at Full Tilt for real money and withdraw it later?
I live in New Mexico and recently signed up at Full Tilt and have been playing for real money. Am I allowed to withdraw this money? I'd like to know because if I can't I will stop playing because it's useless to make money on there if I'm never going to be able to take it out. Thanks in advance.

If I sell a piece of land I own in Mexico, how do I get the money legally to the U.S?

If I sell a piece of land I own in Mexico, how do I get the money legally to the U.S?
What is the process for reporting money to the IRS and what is the best way of making sure that I will not be taxed as much if I were to immediately invest the money in immediately buying land here in the US? The amount of money we're talking about is anywhere between $750,000 or 1,500,000 +. It depends on the sale and buyers. Its not just pocket change.

I'd deposit it into a reputable bank in Mexico and get a debit card and simply spend the money down. How much is it?
2 :
Bank draft. As for how and what to report to the IRS, I'd suggest contacting them directly. Good Luck!
3 :
YIKES!!! For that much money, you need to talk to a tax lawyer before the deal closes ... some kinds of payment options are more taxable than others. If he can save you 5% in taxes, which is quite likely, that would be $37,500 more profit on the lower sale price. Don't try to hide the money ... just do all you can to legally keep your taxes down.

hould I pay taxes in the US from my capital gains in a Mexican account? ?
I am a Mexican citizen and working in the US with an H1B visa. I have money in Mexico and make capital gains from interests in an account that is in Mexico. I didn't make that money from my work in the US, I had it there before I starting working in the US. I would like to know if I should include those capital gains in my US Tax declaration?

It is in the IRS Code that "worldwide income is inclusive" on the US tax returns. You declare all foreign income in your US tax returns but at the same time you could take deductions on the foreign taxes you paid on those income.
2 :
No, that income is not subject to US taxation under your visa status. Should you become a lawful permanent resident though it WILL become taxable at that point.

Why do taco stands always play circus music and have Mexico flags?

Why do taco stands always play circus music and have Mexico flags?
Why do so many fail health inspections ? Why are they all painted the same color? Would it hurt the taco stand to have a America flag or are they scared to give up their oath to Mexico? Many Mexican Americans complain about the lack of American flags saying the taco stands really want to make money off their oath to Mexico.

To fool the American people into thinking they are getting authentic Mexican cusine......and look at their houses( The ones that have houses) they are painted in the same garish way with Mexi flags and statues Some actually think they are still in Mexico
2 :
They are proud of their heritage. There is nothing wrong with that.
3 :
Geez, why does it matter to you? You obviously have a problem with Mexicans. I think taco stands are good. Is it really hurting you that they play their music? It's better then rap music with all the cuss words. Do you let your children listen to rap music?
4 :
Might be that they think they are still in Mexico. Each time I hear that music here where I live, I look around and wait for a monkey to come over, so I can put some change in his tin cup.
5 :
Because they are very proud of Mexico. They have no intention of ever becoming AMERICANS, which is why they have no business being here. If you love Mexico so much, do us all a huge favor and go back.
6 :
Well, tacos are an invention of mexico. They all fail inspections cause they don't care about regulations, that's the way things work in mexico. This is a big issue, they put mexico flags because they want to make clear it's mexican food, also, they are so proud to be mexicans, the question is, what are they doing here then? If it's america who is feeding them, they should pay some respect. yeah that too,... you put a Mexico flag, and you will attract more mexicans. Hehhe, it;s not circus music, it's some kind of regional or mexican country music.
7 :
they should have the american flag on the stand. when i lived i chicago i saw the mexicans having their parades. they had the american flag above theirs. i knew those was the ones who called america home. the ones who sell off the stands is most likely selling drugs also. why else would they have it painted like that. and their flag on it.
8 :
Why don't you ask one of the Taco Stands owners why? I don't know Bill and I think there are far more important issues about illegal aliens than choice of music or stand paint. After all they are selling a certain type of food and that flag just lets people know what type of food.Or warns others to stay away.My city doesn't allow any thing like that but other city's in Arizona do.I have too many real issues with illegal aliens than to worry about tacos.Besides I make my own, they are better and I know I wash my hands. No restaurants are "safe" anymore. You pay your money and you take your chances.....Its a choice isn't it ?
9 :
I am Hispanic and for me it makes me mad when I see these Mexican flags up outside a taco stand restaurant, grocery store etc. I think they forget what country they are in. I will not buy food from taco stands because I never see them wash their hands. The whole Mexican flag thing is ridiculous. This is America and the only flag that should be flying anywhere is an American flag.
10 :
It's a conspiracy
11 :
They are paying homage to their Mexican God, Nacho Libre.
12 :
they have pride to their home country. I believe that the American flag should always be flown first. It doesn't bother me at all, as long as they learn to respect the American Laws.
13 :
LOL @ circus music. I call it carnival music and it is very irritating.

In Mexico, how are the people who go to America for work viewed?

In Mexico, how are the people who go to America for work viewed?
Are they seen as people who are trying to make money for a better life and approved off? Young people going on an adventure and glamorized? Are they seen as unpatriotic people and shamed? Or is it more pragmatic, like good one more job for someone who stays here? Or one less person to deal with here? Any thoughts?

Well, a derogatory term was designed just for those who go to America looking for work--mojado. It means wet, which basically references how the emerge from the Rio Grande river.
2 :
like nothing, like normal people who go to work? what can someone think when they're basically dying of hunger. And no the young people aren't looked at as if they were going to an adventure because they too go to America for the same reasons as the older do, to provide some money for the family.
3 :
not good
4 :
they should feel they abandoned their country and their people to run somewhere they are not wanted or welcome.
5 :
Lucky! with better looking futures and making more money.
6 :
illegal immigrants who come to America come to better themselves financially. They risk their lives to come and look for a low-wage jobs to feed their children. People criticize them without having any knowledge of how severe their problems are in their own country. Many times it is not even a parent that comes. Sometimes it might be the older siblings who come to work so they can support the rest of their family because their own parents are too old, sick or have died. You want them to come legally but that is near impossible. Getting a working permit is not an easy thing. Unless you have political influences or a bank account with a substantial amount of money then you will be denied a permit. Tell me whats the point of coming here as an illegal if you have that? Anybody in their shoes would do anything to be able to feed or clothe their family. You can critize as much as you want but a parent would rather go through hell and back before they see their children going to sleep hungry and waking up the same way... So in answer to your question. People in their own country do not see them unpatriotic they see their need and wish them luck and hope that this will help their family.
7 :
As brave heroes!
8 :
It is so common place I doubt anyone gives it much thought at all. The families are grateful for the help financially.

That is tough. You may try lawn mowing, my 14 year old neighbor is always busy. He charges between $10-20 per lawn, depending on the size. You can also try dog sitting/walking, babysitting, washing cars or taking care of people's plants when they are on vacation. I know kids in ABQ that do all of these things for extra cash. Unfortunately, not a lot of businesses hire kids your age because of the insurance liabilities. For future reference, Kirtland AFB has a summer hire program that you can apply to when you are 16 and ABQ Ride offers service to Kirtland, in case you are still saving for a car then or gas is $6 a gallon. Good luck.

Why doesn't the US make Mexico part of the US?

Why doesn't the US make Mexico part of the US?
We have many companies that moved to Mexico for lower wages. If we took Mexico into our country, and raised cost to companies that left the US. That would be plenty of money across the board. It would take care of all problems. We would just have to work out how the governing bodies will be set up.

We had a chance in 1848.
2 :
probably i good idea
3 :
We kind of already have. Texas could also be known as North Mexico.
4 :
For the same reason most women don't seek out drunken bums to marry.
5 :
Because Mexico doesnt want to be part of the united states of america. They are their own country with their own set off laws and taxes.
6 :
and take on all of their problems? No Thanks . . . besides, they have nothing to offer us . . . if there were big time oil reserves down there, trust me, Bush would've invaded in '01.
7 :
They probably don't want to. Why do you think it is your decision to make? That is why countries have armies, to defend themselves from people and states that think like you do. How would you think if China decided to cross the water and make the USA part of China, Since they are selling you all the things you own anyhow.
8 :
Probably because the US of A would have to take on, Mexico's pay. We can't afford to live on 10. a week. and they can't afford minimum wage there.
9 :
Not gonna happen in this life time. Imagine the amount of people rushing to get welfare. It would be worse that Puerto Rico. That filthy little island shouldn't even be a commonwealth. All it they do is breed and run to the states for welfare then run back to live fat on our tax dollars. Mexico would be far worse because they have a larger population but on the plus side they are a better class of people than puerto ricans.
10 :
That's a bad idea. Think of all the language problems. Everyone's salaries would go down. All our hospitals and services would be overrun and fail. It would be a mess. No thanks. I like the U.S. as it is.
11 :
Why should we.when it seems like most of THEIR citizens are here ALREADY??!!!
12 :
if you look at it long term, and make it say a 20 year project and not bring in mexico as one huge state, but bring in mexico slowly, mexican state by mexican state, and teach them english and american values, it is actually a really good idea, it'll be a slow process, where everybody can win, mexicans have nothing to lose, hey only gain from such a proposal, except they will have to start calling themselves Americans and English is becoming an international language anyway, and I dont see why they cant be bi-lingual anyway. and then the Union will have probably about 80 or 90 states. its really a good idea when you really think about it.
13 :
Duh! That's already happened! Texas, California, New Mexico, Arizona, etc. were all part of the Mexican Nation, until we took it from them! H
14 :
That would be like having a nice cold glass of milk and adding mud to it.
15 :
Good question. They should. Not only was California once owned by Mexico, but Mexico is close enough that it could be our 51st or 52nd state. But I guess, the Federal government in Washington D.C. doesn't want to take that action. They're lazy.
16 :
VERY FUNNY.ACTUALLY MEXICANS SAY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE ALL WESTERN STATES PART OF MEXICO BY SENDING MILLIONS ACROSS THE BORDER.THEY HAVE FRIENDLY PRESIDENT AND SENATE IN AMERICA.
17 :
We didn't steal jack s***. And Mexico pretty much already is here. It's called L.A.,Arizona,Texas. They are everywhere and moving up through the states. Too damn many of them. How can anyone justify them being here illegally? You must think it is ok to go steal cars, because they must need one real bad, rape because they need that too,and murder must not be any big deal since he probably needed to be killed right? If you can justify 1 than you are justifying it all And there is no justifying any of it!!! They sneak here they do not walk in properly and some of you think this is OK? I don't get that. I am all for it through legal channels but they are a drain on OUR country's systems and yes many are on welfare, and criminals. They pop out a kid every 9 months so they can stay since their kids are legal citizens.Isn't that precious. It isn't like that in any other country in the world but here. After all it isn't the kids fault so we would be punishing them by sending them all home!! They don't belong here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get a visa get a job. No visa ADIOS!!!!
18 :
hahah didnt you have enough by stealing 8 states.. poor ignorants

That's funny you might as well say we already have!

Do any illegal aliens from Mexico work for or with you?

Do any illegal aliens from Mexico work for or with you?
A few work for us and I have to say that they are very good workers and do not cause any trouble. No one else here in the US wants to do the jobs they are doing so why are people most people in an uproar about this?...All they are trying to do is make money for their families like all the rest of us, but yet they don't have a green card to be legal. What are your thoughts?
Polls & Surveys - 4 Answers

yeah
2 :
While i can understand what you are getting at, it's not fair to the immigrants that are going through the legal process and waiting their turn. Illegal aliens are not paying taxes etc either and contributing to the country like the rest of us. So no i don't think it's fair and no i don't have any working with or for me either.
3 :
I think they should fire you and send you to Mexico for 2 weeks. All expenses paid, of course.
4 :
I have to correct your statement : "No one else here in the US wants to do the jobs they are doing ". It should read : " Most people here in the US don't want to do the jobs they are doing for such low pay ". I can appreciate the fact that most of these guys work hard for what little money they make and they are just trying to feed themselves and their families , but there is no doubt in my mind that they have both drove down wages ( wages that were already to low ) and put many americans out of work .

What kind of job can I get in Mexico as a visiting American?
I'm an American and I might be spending the summer down in Mexico (Guadalajara) with some family. I'd like to get a job there to make some money, and, also, to improve my Spanish. It is against Mexican law to WORK in Mexico while there on a tourist card...just as it is illegal for foreign nationals to work in the U.S. when there on a tourist visa. To work in Mexico you must have an FM3 visa with a WORK permit. These are nearly mposible to get and totally impossible to get for a casual job for a short period of time. you must be highly skilled in a job where thery need workers...and find an employer to hire you who will write a letter to immigration stating he is hiring you for a job he cannot find a Mexicn national to fill. He must sponsor your work visa. This takes, time , money and work. Unemployment is high in Mexico. there are many educated, skilled Mexicans avail for jobs of all kinds. there are thousands avail. for low-skilled jobs. Wages in Mexico are a fraction of what they are in the U.S. Unskilled work...like in a store or restaurant pays less than $2.00 an hour...often only $5.00 a DAY. Professionals earn about 1/10th what is paid to similar workers in the U.S....or LESS. Sorry to be so negative, but this is the truth...you simply cannot work in Mexico. Some people get menial jobs and are paid "under the table." This pay is very little...and you would be taking a job from a Mexican citizen. Perhaps your family in Guadalajara will know of some volunteer opportunities you could work with.
2 :
If you want to acquire work experience in Mexico and are a university student or graduate, perhaps you can search for an organization that would set you up with a sort of internship. Do some googling for such organizations and see what you can find, but be aware that it is quite likely that they will not pay you but rather you may in fact have to pay the agency that coordinated your internship a fee for their services. Other than that, perhaps there are some opportunities to volunteer as the above poster said. Charlie is right: you cannot simply go down to Mexico and apply for jobs at your whim. Mexican immigration laws are quite restrictive about foreign workers.
3 :
Oh NO!!!! I lived in the border of San Luis Rio Colorado and Arizona.. Mexico pays very poorly..and also I wasn't accepted since I didn't have Mexican documents, and I was applying as a translator for a big company. Don't even try it, just enjoy your vacation.
4 :
listen to Charlie - he's got it right
5 :
Yup... Charlie is right. Your best bet is to try to find a volunteer organization for which you might be able to do an internship. Work on your fluency with Spanish and in the end (a few years down the road when looking for permanent employment in the US) you'll be better off than if you picked up a few pesos in Mexico this summer. Besides voluntary organizations, check into any links you may have with social, civic, or religious organizations. Here in Torreon, for example, there is a very active Rotary Club. If you already have a connection to Rotary in the US, find a Club in Guadalajara and contact that group to see what volunteer activities they might recommend. You can also contact US expat groups in Guadalajara and see if there might be a US expat in business who might want an intern for the summer. You might not make any money, but there's a chance you could pick up some valuable experience that will again make a difference down the road. Beyond that, work on your Spanish, experience the culture, and enjoy your summer.
6 :
As a tourist you can only get one job here. It is called a "Mamada" You think you can work here?
7 :
Unless like others have said about joining an organization in the US or getting your current job to transfer you to a branch in Mexico, it would be unlikely. You could ask your relatives if one of them owns a small business like a family restaurant and you could work there with money "paid under the table", more for the communicative experience than actually earning any real money.

It's in mexico, the price per hour is 8 pesos, which is the average in the zone, it's near the center of the city, I also capture data, or design logos, sell computers or parts, whatever the costumer wants as long as I am capable of doing it, but there is low customer attendance, so I would really appreciate some tips on how to make this thing somewhat profitable, and not to lose the investment that was made

Whatever the state of Mexico's economy is, the vast majority of illegal immigrants come here to find work. Some of them then protest here against efforts to keep others out, or to send the ones already here back, because, even though they may be here illegally, they argue that since they're now contributing postively to the American economy, we should let them stay. I'm not saying that I agree with that argument, but that's the rationale.

I laugh everytime I hear this question... Did you know people protest/march daily in Mexico City? People from all over Mexico, they are called "campesinos" or peasants, come to Mexico City, D.F to protest and have their voice heard in the capital, so maybe something will get done......They shut down major avenues downtown, and that is no easy task with a population of over 22 million.....Every time I go visit there, I see protestors protesting some unfair practice the govt. is allowing or inflicting on its people at the Zocalo (downtown plaza), some even camp out there for days protesting.... So my question is, why do people here insist Mexicans do nothing to change their country? WHAT ELSE ARE THEY SUPPOSE TO DO? They don't allow guns, so all they can do is have peaceful protests..... You complain they are here protesting in our country, and don't do a thing to change theirs? And while Mexico is considered for the most a wealthy nation, it is because of its natural resources.....That wealth NEVER trickles down to its citizens, but stays in the hands of a few wealthy elite familes who own Mexico....Mexicans average income a year is about $7,100.....Here in the states it runs about $34,000....Could you live off $7,100 a year? I didn't think soo.... So please get informed and stop parroting what you hear everyone else say, it gets old hearing the same tired old questions.....

Because they can recieve more benefits here like health care and education. But that is no excuse for coming to this country illegally! ARREST, DEPORT, AND BUILD THE WALL!
8 :
Unlawful Entry is a CRIME. America love it or leave it. Unlawful Entry is a CRIME. Leave it Now. Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators! No amnesty, no "stealth-amnesty." No "change of status," marriage fraud, "exceptional leave to remain," no "Temporary Protected Status." If you break the law, depart or be deported. Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

because first of all in the country of mexico the president takes the money from the people and as hard as us mexicans try to make them listen they don't. we believe that the united states uses us for work because americans can not get their buts of their couch to work in jobs us mexicans work in. and we march here because we have as much rights as any american here in this country. we believe in unity in our famiies and if anybody messes with our family they mess with us.

How would this work out offer to buy a part of Mexico?

How would this work out offer to buy a part of Mexico?
We could forgive Mexico's debt to the US by drawing a line from Sonoyta Mexico and Puerto Penasco Mexico then making everything West of the line US property. Lots of Beach and retirement homesteads and the People were going to come here anyway. Make them pay income taxes and they will loose their US health care and welfare money. They can be just like the rest of us and that is what they want anyway.

I wouldn't want it if it was free. Nor any part of the U.S. southwest. Lot of geezer degenerates down here.
2 :
Hey they are living in paradise aren't they.
3 :
Actually, it should be the reverse. Part of Mexico should buy it's way into the USA as they would benefit far more than we would.
4 :
sounds good. we just need to take all of mexico. and kick fox out of there. rid mexico of the drug lords and corrupt govt. you know clean house.
5 :
Dang Dude do you really want to do that. We already own Cozumel and it hasn't made any difference there. LOL
6 :

Why dose Mexico have a border fence?

Why dose Mexico have a border fence?
Ok come on now. I know the basics of this but why do it? With the way the world is today its hard to find Homes,Jobs, and hard to make money. So why worry about people coming to the US and then saying "hey. I make no money and I don"t have a home" I guess mexico is a better place.

just something to waste more tax payer dollars.
2 :
The fence is to keep people OUT, not in. Because if you look at the problem, nobody is jumping the fence TO Mexico, they're all jumping IN.

Do we have1.4 billion to waste to help Mexico battle violent drug gangs, but the money will be largely ?

Do we have1.4 billion to waste to help Mexico battle violent drug gangs, but the money will be largely ?
The U.S. government is vowing to spend $1.4 billion to help Mexico battle violent drug gangs, but the money will be largely wasted if authorities here don't cut the ties between police forces and organized crime, security analysts say. U.S. and Mexican officials on Monday announced the so-called "Merida Initiative," which U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza described as "the single most aggressive undertaking ever to combat Mexican drug cartels." The plan's success, however, may hinge on whether it includes an effective strategy to tackle the corruption that has corroded large parts of Mexico's local and federal police forces. If it does not, Mexico will simply go from having "a corrupt and badly equipped police force to a corrupt and well-equipped police force," said Jorge Chabat, a Mexican national security analyst and drug expert. The latest example of how deep-pocketed drug traffickers have warped local law enforcement came earlier this month when agents detained 25 federal police officers in the northern border state of Tamaulipas on suspicion of providing protection for the Gulf drug cartel. Erubiel Tirado, a national security and diplomacy expert at Mexico City's Iberoamericana University, said the Merida plan's emphasis on equipment and training of Mexican forces sends a clear message. "There's no confidence in our institutional infrastructure, which is precisely the origin of the crisis we're going through," he said. President Bush asked Congress on Monday to approve funding for the plan's first $500 million installment. If approved, it would make Mexico the second biggest recipient of U.S. security and anti-drug aid after Colombia, which has received $5 billion under Plan Colombia. Critics of the new plan have dubbed it "Plan Mexico." Unlike the Colombia initiative, though, the Mexico proposal does not involve putting U.S. troops on Mexican soil. Instead, it would pay for such things as helicopters and surveillance aircraft, "nonintrusive inspection equipment" and drug-sniffing dogs. Mexican opposition politicians have nevertheless raised concerns that it would violate Mexican sovereignty and pledged to oppose Mexico's plan to spend $7 billion over three years to the fight against organized crime. Foreign Secretary Patricia Espinosa was to appear before the Senate later Wednesday to provide lawmakers with details on the initiative.http://www.star-telegram.com/448/story/279143.html

Yes, the US government can waste a billion here or there and hardly notice.
2 :
Once again we will be lining the pockets of both the Mexican government and the drug cartels being they are in bed together
3 :
When we are wasting trillions of dollars on the Iraq War, 1.4 billion to Mexico doesn't seem like a whole lot.
4 :
Of course it is a bad Idea, but we are talking about a country that has been fighting a war on drugs for 30 years. And losing.
5 :
well this present govt has a soft heart for mexico they will do anything to support them as long as this present US govt is in the power
6 :
Mexico should spend the 7 billion to improve conditions in their country first.
7 :
Isn't it about time that Mexico took responsibility for their corrupt society and did something to change it themselves. Since we are sending all of their absconders back, perhaps they will learn to survive without all of our money going to these idiots! I'm so sick of the illegals and their hostile attitudes, I don't really care about Mexico at all. I'm not going to vacation in that rat hole and I have no family there. Help yourselves for once, that's how the drug cartels became so powerful, they helped themselves. So many public officials had their hands out to them, they have exactly what they asked for.
8 :
God damn it!!! I'm tired of money going to help everyone but the ACTUAL CITIZENS!!!
9 :
That money would be better spent here on ICE agents, Border Patrolmen, and a fence made in America.
10 :
Most of you think Mexico is the only responsible for this drug wars. Well, here's a thought... .if drugs werent as widely bought in the US there would be no need for drug cartels to exist.... who would they sell the drugs to???? poor mexicans? they cant afford it.... rich mexicans??? it's not that many of us to make that kind of business out of it. Its like what happens with fur coats... one would need to cut back demand to deal with the problem So yes... drug wars are our problem as mexicans and believe me... we are very very aggraviated by them, but please dont act like they are just a product of mexican corruption... because they are also a product of american consumption. And given that we cannot afford to fight this war with our own resources, it is under your best interest to help Mexico (disregarding any responsibility you might have on the matter) if you want to keep drugs away from your children. So no, I dont think you are throwing that money away... and I dont think that your government would do it just to help Mexico,,, I think good things could come out of this for both countries, but you manage to think that we are enemies and that we do not deserve your attention instead of acknowledging that we need to be in this together.

How much money do ppl make in Montgomery, AL.?

How much money do ppl make in Montgomery, AL.?
I know it depends on the job but for example the cost of living is higher in Alaska so I made more there, than New Mexico. Has anyone looked for work in Alabama and seen the range of pay there?

Check with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce for accurate answers to your questions.

I live in Montgomery and I anecdotally believe you could expect to make about 10-15% less than in a bigger city such as Birmingham. Maybe 25-35% less than in New York City. But that is basically a guess. You really don't have a high cost of living here because housing is still relatively inexpensive -- several 3/2 and some 4/2 houses have sold for $100K.
