Instead of fighting against Mexicans why doesn't the US make Mexico the 53rd state?
All this time and money is being wasted to keep these people out when it could actually be more beneficial to merge Mexico with the US. US & Mexico are culturally similar and there would be no integration problems. Mexico would add a pool of cheap labour to the economy. As one nation, easy travel, unhindered trade and the bargaining power of an entire continent would benefit all citizens. What do you think of my idea?

-hahhaha hope you were joking "no integration problems": there would be tremendous integration problems. The majority of their country would qualify for below the poverty line in the united states. They would take jobs from the lower class and suck the already socialist part of this country dry of the limited resources that we have for the hard working americans -an Independent (lean more liberal if you must know)

Cost the USA citizenship a jobs if doing this, if do that, it will make US to go all the way back to right after civil wars. The rich get richer, poor get poorer, economy will be blooming but only wealthy people will have better life, not poor.

Apparently you've never studied Mexican culture. Sure we might have the same culture along the border but go deeper south and it's a different story. We different governments, different policies, and different languages. It'll never work.

i think that in fantasy land its perfect. but by adopting mexico as a state, we would have to basically gut the country out. There are manly laws and regulations that would have to be enforced. the alcohol and drug together would take years to solve. Not to mention the new borders built and immigration regulation needed.

You would turn America into a third world country over night.Then all the Hondurans and Guatemalans are going to be coming over the border.Do you add them as states as well?God what a mess that would be.Our cultures clash.It would be a disaster.

a lot of people have thought of annexing mexico but people are too prideful from either side of the border as you can see all the responses from americans here lol but it really would be beneficial mexico has a great oil supply and hard workers and just take jobs they were already working people here are just afraid of us haha but only a fantasy are you counting puerto rico or something as the 51 and 52? because we only have 50 we have plenty of territories though not quite states

There are 31 states in Mexico so it would be 81 States in the Union. Where did you get 53? there are only 50 States now, Mainly because Puerto Rico keeps refusing to take statehood. We would have to annex it one state at a time, to give the Feds time to use the rico statutes to arrest the cartels in each state. Mean while we would have to declare marshal law to control the borders while we were arresting the cartels. The sad thing is WE actually owned mexico for a couple of weeks back in the 1800's. Congress refused to annex it, so we gave everything back except the National Socialist Republik of Kalifornia, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. Plus annexing Mexico would create millions of jobs. ( Dem's would require WIC offices, Welfare offices, free Health Clinics, and HUD housing be built in EVERY town) Annexing Mexico would give us Access to our own Oil supply so we could let the middle east kill each other off without ruining our economy. Plus the tourism sites, the historical sites, it sounds good to me. Convince our Govt. and theirs and i'll go live in the Yucatan.

Hey I don't think you've ever been to Mexico before. Many Americans think that the majority of Mexicans in Mexico are poor but I have been there many times because i'm Mexican and have half of my family there and I would say that they all live just as good as I do and my wealthiest relative lives in Mexico and has never set foot in the United States. As for making Mexico part of the United States I would think that Mexico wouldn't want too.
