If oil is a national security issue then why are middlemen making money off it.?
Please don't respond by saying the govt. doesn't have the knowhow to get it out of the ground. If exxon-mobil want to extract oil from the ground and make a huge profit, then let them secure the area in which they want to conduct business like any other u.s. company. Why is Mexico's and Venezuela's oil nationalized as opposed to privatized as in this country? I can only speculate so I'm hoping someone can give an enlightening answer to this question.

most American refineries are owned by the people u mentioned. my town has several refineries and one is owned by England and another is owned by the great Chavez his self.
